TypeAura is built to be privacy-first. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, Google account, or advertising ID, and we never store the text you type. The only data tied to you is an anonymous device ID and basic usage statistics. This page explains exactly what we hold and gives you two ways to delete it.

1. What data is associated with your device

Anonymous device ID — a randomly generated UUID created on first install (not linked to your identity).
Hashed device identifier — a one-way SHA-256 hash of your Android ID, used only to restore a Premium purchase to the same physical device. The raw Android ID never leaves your device.
Usage statistics — anonymous event counters (e.g. "keyboard_opened", "ai_used"), install/last-use dates, daily AI token counts, and device model / Android version.
Crash reports — sanitized error logs (app version, error type, truncated stack trace). No typed text or personal data.
Payment records (only if you purchased Premium) — a payment/order identifier, Premium expiry date, and a restore code linked to your anonymous device ID. We never store card, UPI, or bank details (those are handled by Razorpay).

We do not store: your typed text, clipboard contents, voice audio, translation inputs/outputs, your Bring-Your-Own-Key Groq API key, or any personally identifiable information.

2. Option A — Clear data instantly inside the app

You can wipe all locally stored analytics and queued data yourself, at any time, without contacting us:

Open the TypeAura app.
Go to Settings → Privacy & Security.
Tap Clear Analytics Data.

This clears the data stored on your device and stops further syncing. To also remove records already stored on our servers, use Option B below.

3. Option B — Request full server-side deletion

To delete everything associated with your device from our backend (analytics, events, crash logs, and any payment/restore records), submit a deletion request below. Your device ID is shown in the app under Settings → Privacy & Security (you can also leave it blank and we'll match by the email you send from, if you contacted us before).

4. What happens next

Deletion requests are processed within 30 days of receipt.
All records linked to the device ID (or the requesting email) are permanently removed from our database.
We may send a short confirmation email once deletion is complete.
Note: deleting your data does not cancel a Premium purchase. If you delete the restore record, automatic Premium recovery on reinstall will no longer be possible.

5. Data retention

Even without a request, analytics data is automatically deleted after a maximum of 12 months. Crash reports are retained only for a limited debugging period.
